Giving us access to your system(s)/application(s)
Sharing credentials can be done securely through our PrivateBin instance: https://bin.amste.ch.
Follow these steps to give us access to your system(s):
-
Log in as "root" user on your system.
-
Add our public keys to the authorized_keys for the user by running this command:
mkdir -p ~/.ssh && curl https://amste.ch/static/support-keys >> ~/.ssh/authorized_keys
-
Make sure the user "root" is allowed to login through SSH. The setting
PermitRootLogin should be set to PermitRootLogin prohibit-password in the config file /etc/ssh/sshd_config. Restart the SSH daemon if necessary with this command: systemctl restart sshd
-
Open a new file to put your passwords, like the password for the MySQL root user and ISPConfig admin user. Save the file as "support_info.txt" in a safe space on the system.
-
If there is a firewall that restricts SSH traffic, whitelist our IP addresses. You can request these addresses through our support desk.
-
Send us the hostname of the system, SSH port, username, and the location of the support_info.txt file.
-
Never share passwords or other sensitive information over e-mail or WhatsApp!
